Modifying the Moving Clap Jack

In the Insanity Max:30 workout (Max Cardio-Month 2), as well as in my live Insanity classes, you can find a move called the "Clap Jack". Sometimes this move will be stationary, with just the feet moving in and out in a jumping jack motion, and sometimes we will add some plyometrics to the mix and get moving and grooving.

Being someone who has knee problems from old sports injuries, I know that jumping isn't for everyone. At the same time, I also know that the fitness levels will vary person to person not only for those of you completing the in-home program, but also for those of you attending my live classes. Below you can find a video of the modification: The image on the left is the standard move, the image on the right is the proper modification. As you can see, this move remains effective and fun for all fitness levels!

Benefits of Clap Jack:

Increased heart rate meaning increased calorie burn
Core strength
Toning of the legs - glutes, quads, hammys, and calves are all worked during this one!
Toning of the arms & shoulders

This move looks simple enough, but you will feel the burn in the lower body!
